Kaleidoscope Adventures is partnering with Till to make your student’s travel adventures even better. Till is a great way to manage money on the trip, and an even better tool for long-term money management.

Let’s talk about Till, how it works, and why it’s a fantastic added feature that will benefit your child long after the trip ends.

What is Till?

Till is a popular money management app and debit card used by student travelers. Students that sign up receive a free Till debit card that can be used for on-trip expenses like meals and souvenirs.

Tour Directors distribute funds through Till, while parents can monitor spending in real-time and add money if needed. Unlike cash, if a Till card is lost or stolen, it’s simple to lock and replace through the app, offering a safer way to manage money on tour.

Why Are We Using Till on our School Trip?

A Till card checks all your boxes…

  • Convenient – pay for any trip expenses that pop up
  • Safe – no need to carry cash
  • Reassuring – parents can send money instantly if needed
  • Smart – gives kids a great start on long-term financial literacy

How Does it Work?

Approximately 6 weeks ahead of your trip, your group leader will reach out with information to set up a Till account. This regulated FDIC-insured account has a debit card attached that will be mailed to your home. The account and card belong to your child– even after the trip has ended.

How Do I Use It?

Your child’s Till account is a multi-purpose tool that’s perfect for student travelers before, during, and after the trip!

Preparing for your Kaleidoscope Adventures Trip

Students can set a savings goal or create a trip fundraiser in the Till app to make trip payments or pay on-tour expenses—all with parental oversight. It’s a great way for students to learn by doing.

Using Till on Tour

Tour Directors will use Till to distribute funds for trip expenses (like meals). Students can use their Till cards just like a regular debit card, while parents can monitor spending in real-time.

After Your Adventure

The Till card is yours to keep! Many families continue to use Till just like any other debit card with added family features, such as managing allowances and assigning tasks.

How Do I Start?

Till has a super simple sign-up guide for families that will walk you through every step of the sign-up, save, and fundraise process.

What If I Don’t Want to Set Up an Account?

If you opt out of opening a Till account, your child will still get a temporary card that can be used during the trip dates. However, this card MUST be returned immediately at the conclusion of the trip.
