About AAA’s School Safety Patrol Program

Since 1920, AAA’s School Safety Patrol program has given school-aged children added safety and security while going to and from school.  Participants contributed to the steady decline of U.S. student pedestrian deaths—a 24% decrease since 2010.

AAA clubs continue to promote and support the Safety Patrol as a trusted community service fulfilled by millions of boys and girls.

The program’s success has inspired more than 30 other countries to enact similar initiatives with similar results.  It’s a powerful story of young people doing important work on behalf of other young people!
