School is back in session and life is getting back to something resembling normal.  Students are in class, not in bed, and resuming extracurricular activities.  And while the big class trip may be postponed, that doesn’t mean travel is off the table.  Think “statecation” or off the beaten path travel.  So where can you go in 2021?

Lafayette

Plan a day or two in Lafayette, Louisiana.  This magnificent spot in the heart of Cajun country is perfect for both student and performance groups.  Skip the chaos and crowds of New Orleans and spend time in the birthplace of American music!

Visit Vermillionville and the Acadian Cultural Center as you explore the roots of the Creole culture and traditions of Mardi Gras.

Plan a paddling trip or airboat ride through the swampy wilderness of the Atchafalaya for the ultimate ecology lesson.

Drop by Avery Island, home of TABASCO® Pepper Sauce and some fascinating history.

Go behind the scenes of the Martin Accordion Factory for a tour that students will LOVE!

The good folks of Lafayette are ready to welcome your students with private experiences that prioritize health and safety as part of the Just for Us Adventures. It’s all the fun without the crowds!

7 Reasons to Plan A Music Trip to Lafayette

National Parks

Groups looking for a little more activity will love America’s national parks! They are treasure troves of stunning vistas, majestic mountains, ancient canyons, water, and magnificent wildlife.  Students can hike, climb, kayak, and explore the unrivaled natural splendor of this beautiful country.

National Parks

Best of all, national parks are in practically everyone’s backyard!  There are 62 protected spaces in 29 states.  The newest include

Indiana Dunes in Chesterton, Indiana promises sun sand and solitude. Nature trails, gorgeous Lake Michigan coastline, and even geocaching are part of the fun!

White Sands National Park in New Mexico – learn how the white sands formed and how the unique flora and fauna thrive in this glistening white wonderland.

The wide-open spaces and ranger-led park programs are the perfect way to get students out of the classroom (or living room) and on the road learning.

Dallas/Fort Worth

Everything’s bigger in Texas – including your trip to Dallas!  Kick up your heels and have some fun in the “Big D!”

Dallas

Jump on a private, guided tour highlighting Dallas’ checkered past, important landmarks, and incredible architecture. Tours can be customized to include a scavenger hunt for students!

Visit Dallas Zoo, established in 1888 and the oldest zoo in Texas.

Take a swing at Topgolf for multilevel entertainment.

“Spare” some time for Alley Cats, where you can bowl, mini-golf, try the batting cages, or grab a bite!

Take a private group tour of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s also an art museum, classroom, and the world’s largest domed structure!

While you may not be able to plan a big trip this year, don’t let your students miss the experience of travel. Where can you go in 2021?  Keep your adventure close to home or away from the crowds!
